Can we expect better touchscreen support soon? Is there some roadmap to jQuery UI concerning this?
Hi.
I've being using jQuery and jQuery UI for some time and they're tremendously useful. I think jQuery UI does a great job on the typical desktop but I'd like using it for touchscreen and small devices too. It's already working there but it isn't as usable, lacking some features that would make it more appropiate for those devices.
On the other hand, it seems jQuery Mobile does a good job on touchscreen devices but doesn't fit as well for non-touchscreen. Also, it's lagging behind jQuery UI in some features.
I'd like to develop for a variety of devices, any combination of small and big, touchscreen and non-touchscreen, high and low bandwidth, without worrying about it being named a mobile, tablet, desktop or whatever new device name comes up.
Are there already plans to do adaptive development based on device features instead of device names? Am I missing anything already on the works?
I guess I'm not the only one looking for this kind of development model so I hope someone can share his/her info/ideas/thoughts here.
