[jQuery] Chrome not performing fade and show() functions well

Today I tested my site on Chrome and I was severely disappointed.
All fadeTo, fadeOut/In, show(), hide() functions work very bad. On the
black background you can see the jagged white halo around the text
that is about to fade/show/hide.
Did anyone else experience this?
