[jQuery] Creating a sliding onload effect

<div>I have a menu made from an unordered list containing 4 menu items that I'd like to slide down from the top of the page onload. The menu is horizontal and I want it to stop around 20px from the top of the page. Once the menu has slid onto the page I want it to stay there (I don't want to have it slide away again).

<div>I've been trying to get this to work by using mootools, but as my site is built with textpattern I'd really like to use JQuery.</div>
