[jQuery] CSS Formatting Guidelines
Hey all,
I've been tooling around with something for a long time
that I wanted to share with the group for feedback. Essentially, it's a
set of formatting guidelines for writing CSS:
<ul><li>The order of selectors
</li><li>The order of identifiers</li><li>Commenting</li><li>Lined up text</li></ul>There's
a bunch of stuff in it, but basically it came out of having one too
many CSS sheets that became way too difficult to navigate as site
development got complicated. Some of the stuff in here is probably
controversial (
e.g. use only 6-character hex colors; validate 100% with no errors or
warnings), so I'm definitely open to feedback.
A
lot of the stuff here came out of practical use, so it's totall
possible that I missed something or did something weird (especially in
the ordering section).
Sorry for sending this to the jQuery list, but you guys give seriously good feedback, and I promise not to do it too often (plus, it's tangentially related ;))
