jquery cycle plugin

Not sure if this question should be posted here or in the plugin forum.
I went and looked at the cycle plugin. I'm not sure what you do with it from a file management standpoint once you download it. For example, are you supposed to cut and paste it into the jquery.js file? Or are you merely supposed to place it in the same root directory on the server as the jquery.js file?
