I’m using the cycle plugin to try to create a 'layered reveal' type of image cycle – something like this:  http://i.imgur.com/udnFqja.gif. The effect is created by having a slideshow which is made up of three identically-sized jpegs, each containing one frame of the loop.

So far, I have the left-to-right transition working perfectly, but I need some way to get the faded edge on the images as they move. Is there any way to do this within the plugin itself, by combining transition effects?

Alternatively, is there any way to easily achieve this by combining the plugin with some other trick, like a gradient png background image or something similar?

It’s all a bit mysterious how I’d do this, so any help is very welcome!
