Jquery Cycle Plugin - PNGs in slideshow produce a white background in IE8 rather than a transparency

I downloaded the Jquery Cycle Plugin from  http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/ For this site I was working on http://jck82.homeip.net/nyfc/

The idea was to create a slideshow in the header using transparent pngs, it works well in every browser except for IE8 (of course).

I tested the images in IE8 seperate from the cycle plugin found at http://jck82.homeip.net/nyfc/test.html

And the transparency works fine in IE8, so something is happening with the plugin and IE8 that creates this white background on my images.

Anyone have a solution?
