jQuery Developer Wanted
Manning Publications is looking to work with a jQuery enthusiast on the development of a next generation ebook. We have implemented a first version of this and will soon begin working with a designer to help us refine our vision. The developer will work with our publisher and the designer to turn their ideas into reality.
In the beginning, the ebook will be a web page that does several things: it will (1) put the entire book on a single page, (2) let readers add and see each others' comments (text and video) to the book, and (3) provide a social interaction medium for discussions between readers. Later, the ebook will evolve into who knows what--we expect the readers to lead the way by telling us what they like and don't like.
Because the project is evolutionary in nature, you must be willing to change or throw away things that aren't working or are no longer wanted. Moderate to high-level jQuery skills are necessary (a curious and fast learner is a plus), and you will need to have enough time available to pay a reasonable amount of attention to us.
