[jQuery] document.write() status (was $(document).ready() does not work properly)

Since it's started cropping up in a couple other discussions (and
because i have to start a new project at work where this could have an
impact) has there been any other headway or such made with the whole
document.write() vs $(document).ready() fight?

I wonder if this problem is related to the Yahoo Ads / Google Ads
problem that was discovered a little while ago. Do you know if your
embedded <script> is doing a document.write() I'm beginning to think
that doing a document.write goofs things up for my custom ready
function.
