i need a help to validate my search box on the basis of drop-down list .suppose if i select "only numeric" search box should validate only numeric with  minimum  3 nos same goes to "only character" search box should validate only character with minimum 3 characters if fails error msg should appear inside the search box with colored background. i tried this code  http://jsfiddle.net/ayanthakur/h23Dr/1/ please help me to update....
