i am totally new to javascript and jquery but i have to solve a challenge but i dont know

how to start 

i bought a wordpress template and installed it. Thats the link:

Everything is fine i did some css but: I want to manipulate the grid in a style you can see in this link:

This cargo site grid is absolutely beautiful. I want now to change my wordpress grid as you can see in cargo.

I tried it with css but this doesn't work. The developer of my bought template told me thats just possible with jQuery libraries but i dont know where to start?

Are there jquery templates or ready parts i can implement in wordpress or have to do it by hand?

Doing it by hand is not possible for me because i dont know the language. 

I don know anything. How i could start? 

Do you have a hint or a kind of strategy to do that?

Maybe just some Links to read a strategy would be better but i dont want to get you guys 

stressed!
