[jQuery] Having an issue accessing a node.

$('#blog[headline]').val('newvalue');
<input type="text" id="blog[headline]" name="blog[headline]" value="" />
It seems i cant access the node for [] in the name breaks the ability to
access it unless i am doing something wrong?
