[jQuery] ie8 and title text value

Hi
I'm trying to read the <title> value from a page head. All
browsers I've tried are happy with $
'title'
.text
apart from ie8
which returns nothing. Am I doing something wrong, or is it IE8 that's
wrong? Is there a workaround?
