jquery inbox drop down

I am using jquery 1.4.2,and i am looking for facebook-like or like that of linkedin (on hover) inbox box dropdown plugin (see attached picture)Any body knows where to find them?.Another question is does the version matter(if the plugin is V 1.3.x)? Also if the plugin's server side technology is different ,would it work in my application?(because most of them works with php and i use jsp)
