[jQuery] Inheritance for non-jQuery objects?

[jQuery] Inheritance for non-jQuery objects?

Hi folks,
I've been using jQuery for some time, but I'm new to how the internals
work.
I would like to create this basic inheritance architecture for my
website:
Root class:
core.js - stores all common functionality
Sub classes:
home.js - home page
player.js - a youtube player
trends.js - a page with video trends
about.js - our about page
Right now, we have one file, index.js, that contains a huge, loosely
stitched together sequence of functions that may or may not utilize
jQuery.
My question is, can I leverage existing jQuery code to make these
classes in the classical inheritance style? I've looked at dropping in
Resig's "Simple JavaScript Inheritance" code or the "jquery-
inheritance" code into my project. I'm really quite clueless as to
what to choose and why.
