[jQuery] Profiling systems to determine if plugin or effect too intensive
Does anyone know a simple way in JavaScript to profile the execution
speed of code to determine if a visitor can effectively run a plugin
or effect without their browser slowing to a crawl due to a slow
computer?
I was on friend's laptop and noticed how she had the same OS and
browser as myself, but because her laptop quite simply sucked, she saw
everything just dragging and at one point had to close the browser the
animation was taking so much processing power. Even simply scrolling
was a chore. I found this happened most frequently on effects that
modified opacity.
