jQuery purist

Hello....
Trying to grasp the concepts of jQuery and ran into a little issue. Being a selective purist I'm allways trying to do things the right way.

Is there any guidelines for class structure i.e. event-hooking, extensions, inline function calls, chaining and so forth?
