[jQuery] reproduce position:fixed
hello!
i'm trying to have a div box stay permanently on the same position in the viewport, no matter how much the page is scrolled.
I try to use dimensions.js to do it, but so far i've failed to calculate correctly the new top position of my element. Can someone explain me what i'm doing wrong?
$(window).bind("scroll",function(){
$this = $('#leftCol');
var newTop = $this.offset();
var scrollTop = $this.scrollTop();
$('#leftCol').css({top: fixedTop.top + scrollTop});
});
