[jQuery] Some questions regarding prototype.js ...

hi,
i'm currently choosing a javascript framework as a foundation for our
future javascript coding (not yet too much javascript knowledge here,
but that's changing;))
there has been some prototype.js bashing:

(maybe prototype.js has fixed this since then, so please correct me)
has jquery these problems, too?
btw, i dont understand the information at
http://jquery.com/docs/PrototypeAndJQuery/
- if i'm loading prototype.js and then jQuery, if i'm using $() then
jQuery's implementation will be used, right?
- if that's the case, does jQuery's $() behave differently whether
prototype.js previously has been loaded or not?
