[jQuery] Somebody wants to make fx.fadeTo ?

[jQuery] Somebody wants to make fx.fadeTo ?

I have an issue with the fadeIn and fadeOut functions.
I want to fade in an element from 0 (hidden) to e.g. 0.8 (80%).
How do i do this with jQuery?
