jquery stopped working!!!!

i have just changed hosting provider and have migrated my site to the new server - now though some things are not working.

I have two scripts which use json to populate drop-downs that are no longer working - there is no error, just a blank response.

The strange thing is that at least one of the scripts is present elsewhere and is working fine.
