[jQuery] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest option

Hi all,
I would find very useful to have a synchronous XMLHttpRequest option in
jQuery, at least for the "$.ajax" operation.
What would be the best way to add synchronous XMLHttpRequest within
jQuery ?
