jquery tabs in posts

I'm fairly new to jquery so heres what I'm trying to do I want to control the amount of tabs that show up in a individual post. Example if i coded it so there are tabs for different types of images and there are only 2 of those 4 types of images in the post I want the post to show only the 2 tabs that are for those images and not show the other 2, and i can add and remove tabs.
Also I have a basic understanding of tabs, and I'm testing out IDtabs ui tabs but so far all the tabs seem to show up even if it doesn't have content in it, also I'm using wordpress.
