jqurey library

There are tons and tons of functions that jquery provides her uses to use but when i try to understand what each one does its kinda complicated from the way they describe it here. ok fine i know what .hide()
or .fadeIn() does but other more complicated ones i cant really get what they do

do you have any suggestion on sources where i can understand easier what jquery functions do?
