License and HTML tag
License and HTML tag
Hi!
The following question is about licensing of jquery and how to use jquery in html.
1. License: As jQuery is really easy to use and very powerful I think about using jQuery in my commercial project. I read here (http://jquery.org/license/) that I may use jQuery in commercial projects as long as the copyright header is left intact. So - what is the copyright header?
I downloaded two different jQuery-Files (min-version and the production (uncompressed) version). When I open them there is a comment in the first line of the files - is this the copyright header? In the min-version the comment comprises only one line, in the uncompressed version it is much more detailed.
So, does it matter, which version - the min- or the uncompressed version - I use for my project? Do I have to use the uncompressed version for commercial projects, because the copyright header is more detailed?
I do not want to modify or edit the jQuery file - I only want to use it as I downloaded it!
2. Do I have to inform jQuery about using it in my commercial project?
3. HTML tag: Is there any rule how to use jQuery in my html document? All I could find is that jQuery is used with a tag like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-min.js"></script>. Is that correct / allowed?
4. Is the licence as shown here (http://jquery.org/license/) linked to a special version?
It would be nice if some "official" jquery-member could answer my questions because I want to do everything in a correct and legal way!
Thanks!
