Making UI Tabs Ignore UI Theme

I know, sounds like a strange request, but I've completely re-themed
UI Tabs through a ui.tabs stylesheet, but whenever I pull ui.theme in
to the page for a slider and sortable list, it immediately wipes out
the majority of my changes to the tabs. So how do I make UI Tabs
ignore the ui.theme classes that the UI library puts on the HTML
elements?
