My jQuery slider doesn't display when the website is live, but will display when I preview it locally?

My jQuery slider doesn't display when the website is live, but will display when I preview it locally?

I am using a plugin to display a slideshow effect on my homepage. When I preview the website locally, the slider displays perfectly. When I upload the site to the server, the slider does not display at all. I have tried using Nivo Slider and Skitter, both with the same results.

I should also note that I have a lightbox plugin on another page that works perfectly on the live site, so I do not think it is a jQuery problem.

Has anyone ever run into this problem? Any ideas what it might be?
