.NET Web Control

Hi. I'm new to jQuery but from what I've read and experimented with it looks awesome - good work! My question is if I produce a .NET web control for other developers to use, how can you target the control for AJAX calls. This is usually done with .NETs GetCallbackEventReference but it looks a bit verbose.
