Norton Internet Security causes glitch in jQuery slideshow in Chrome on a PC

I've written a jQuery slide show that runs fine on a PC in Firefox, IE, and Safari. It runs fine in Chrome when NIS is disabled. But with NIS enabled, there's a glitch. At the end of each dissolve, the previous slide flashes briefly on the screen.
