Please help my script work on newer jquery

I am in desperate need of upgrading this script, I removed all the stuff from my site so the main script is more visible.
It currently uses jquery 1.0.2 and interface.js
I have tried converting to newer versions of jquery but it breaks my script and I do not know enough to modify it myself, I have tried a few times over the past year to do it with no luck. If someone with a lot of knowledge could spare a few minutes to look at this, they could possibly get it working on new jquery with little effort and I would be greatly appreciated.
The script is a drag and drop script using jquery's sortable function, it uses ajax to save the position as a serialised string
