Popup closes automatically on iPad in Chrome?

Popup closes automatically on iPad in Chrome?

I have a popup that opens and then immediately closes in Chrome on an iPad.

The popup works properly on all other combinations I've tried (devices/browsers).   For whatever reason it won't stay open in Chrome on an iPad.
 
Any suggestions where to start?
 
I'm using JQM 1.2.0 FINAL and jq 1.7.1.
