Problem combining tabbed panels and cycle slide show

I'm new here, so please excuse moderate amounts of stupidity.

I'm trying to create a tabbed page with a slide show on one of the tabs.

I have a working slide show here: http://dvsmil.com/test/testslide2.html - this is fine
This is what happens if I try to put the slide show on the third tab: http://dvsmil.com/test/testslide.html

Here, the slide show works but the tabs do not! http://dvsmil.com/test/index.html

It appears to be some incompatibility between libraries but I don't have the expertise to work out what the problem is - help, please?
