I have a quick question regarding Jquery and I was hoping that someone here could help me or at least point me at the right place to find help. If this question is in the wrong sub section of the forum please let me know and I’ll try and move it to a more appropriate area on the forum.
So I recently hired a programmer to create a small program for me and upon reviewing the code it seems the Java code was copied from the Jquery.com website. The thing is I plan on using this script as part of a larger piece of software I plan on selling.
My question is can I use the Jquery Java script in my software if I plan on selling it assuming I keep the header intact?
The reason I ask this is because I’m a normal guy who isn’t a programmer. I don’t really know much about the rules and regulations of this industry so I figured the best thing would be to try and get help from people that routinely work in this industry.
I have looked over the MIT license but it’s rather confusing. I understand that leaving the header is all that’s asked but I’m not sure if the header the programmed included is good enough. Here’s an example of the header the programmer left in place:
/*! jQuery v1.7.2 jquery.com | jquery.org/license */
Is this acceptable and is it good enough to keep me out of trouble if I decide to sell the software with the Jquery code in it?
Thanks for any help.
