Resizable ne handle, but resize width only?

Resizable ne handle, but resize width only?

I would like a NE handle in addition to my E handle for visual clarity but restrict resizing to horizontal. I tried setting min-height which kept the height but still allowed the box to be resized south and just float away.

Ideas appreciated
