Several Questions
Several Questions
Greetings JQuery.
I am a new user to this forum as I have only just picked up on Jqueries. They are fantastic! Yet, I am still unfamiliar with many of the plugins. I am therefore seeking some help and advice.
The reason why I am searching for such an expert is that I have only recently discovered these wonderful scripts and would love to be able to implement them, but I am lacking the experience.
What I intend to do, once I am out of Cameroon (West Africa) and back home in the UK, is to implement the following onto my site.
Login Form - This should allow a user to login to the forum. The form needs to be separate from the Forum and after logging in, should show both the Username and the user's avatar.
This seems simple enough as all one would have to do is link the PHP Form to the SQL Database that the forum runs off of. I am not sure if there is a Jquery to do this.
Kwicks - This is where one can hover above a 'button' within the Navigation Bar. The 'button' will then expand revealing either an image or a sentence.
An example of which can be found here : http://www.jeremymartin.name/examples/kwicks.php (Bare in mind, I require them to be smaller). An example of what I am trying to get is 'Forums' and on hovering reads 'Forums - Trolls not welcome'. I know, cheesy right? :D
Ajax - This lets us fire requests from the browser to the server without page reload, so we can update a part of the page while the user continues on working... Right?
I don't like the idea that when I click on a link, it has to load the new page. I'd rather it all be on a single page where it can fade in. Although simple enough, I have yet to figure out how to make a forum act in this same way so that after clicking the link it can fade in.
If anyone can help, please reply to this thread. I am not available Sunday Evening as I am flying home.
Cheers,
Tangibility
