show/hide div from single control

hi all,

this is my first post to this forum, i want to show/hide a single div(which contains a textbox and button) from a single link.
Please guide me how can i do it.

Basically its a search module, i want the forum to be hidden at first when the page loads, but when i click on search link, it should show the form and there the search results and fetched and displayed in some other div.

Please help me do that..
