Slide DIV horizontally?

Hi,

I really need some help with jQuery. I have something that, In theory seems so simple but is beyond.

I need a DIV to slide horizontally across my page to a position defined in a onMouseover event.

The full effect I'm trying to achieve is a menu which, when you mouse-over a link, a div will slide horizontally and stop above the hovered link.

I've tried all sorts of functions but can't get the desired result.

Can I get some help?
