Hello everybody,

This is my first day trying to work with jquery and my first post as well.

I was looking at the docs and saw this one here:  http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Effects/Slide#options

So I was trying to run the code posted on this doc locally which would be:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <link href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/themes/base/jquery-ui.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
  <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
  <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
  <style type="text/css">
  div { margin: 0px; width: 100px; height: 80px; background: green; border: 1px solid black; position: relative; }
</style>

  <script>
  $(document).ready(function() {

$("div").click(function () {
      $(this).hide("slide", { direction: "down" }, 1000);
});

  });
  </script>
</head>
<body style="font-size:62.5%;">
  <div></div>
</body>
</html>

and it runs fine, but, my problem is if I save the these files locally:

<link href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/themes/base/jquery-ui.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>

it wont run anymore.

The modified code looks like this:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>

  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/jquery-ui.css" />
  <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
  <style type="text/css">
  div { margin: 0px; width: 100px; height: 80px; background: green; border: 1px solid black; position: relative; }
</style>

  <script>
  $(document).ready(function() {

$("div").click(function () {
      $(this).show("slide", { direction: "down" }, 1000);
});

  });
  </script>
</head>
<body style="font-size:62.5%;">
  <div></div>
</body>
</html>

Could anyone please help? Thanks.
