Sliding images

I'm new to jQuery but I am eager to learn.
I would like to design my own website and I would like to add a slider at the top of my website for some images I have. I have seen a couple that I like http://www.cfbnj.org http://www.zenoobi.com/ http://webdesignersadelaide.com http://www.sydney.com/.
I would just like to know are those image scroller things a jQuery thing or are they something else?
