Smooth Image-to-Image Fade Transition?

Hi all,

I've found a bit of code at this website: http://www.designchemical.com/blog/index.php/jquery/jquery-image-swap-gallery/ which is perfect in terms of functionality, etc. However, I'd like to make it a bit more slick and have the images fade into one another rather just change.

Can anyone suggest a tweak to the existing code that would allow this to happen?
