i am new to web design area. I am learning web designing principles at present. In order to create a impressive design i have came across java script and jquery & css3 as well.

as far as i know css3 and java script or js both may help in creating interactive websites. But I am struck in between which technology one should use to design attractive and interactive websites. 

On which technology one should focus more to design more attractive websites
