table plug-in with horizontal scrollable column

Hello,

I need to build a table that has one horizontal scrollable column. The scroll bar should appear in the column's head (or below it).

I've heard that this might not be possible to implement without using multiple synchronized tables that would seem like a single one from the user's perspective.

Any advice/ideea would be welcomed.
