tabs with leading text

Hi:

I'm new to the forum but have been implementing jquery for some time.  I'm no coder, so please speak slowwwly ;)

I would like to incorporate the tabs w/toggle as seen on this page  with the rotating UI tabs show here into my site.

What I want to do is to initially show the boxes as displayed in the image below.  This means the tab + an image + initial text...  When a tab is selected i want the colored div to expand and overlap the other boxes so that the full text is visible. 



is this doable?

Any input is welcome.
