Tabs 3 bookmark div?

I know that you can give the direct url of a specific tab opening page
i.e. #page1 but is there any way of when you click the tabs to select
the relevant section that id of the tab panel would be added to the
url in your browser address bar? This would then help if a user wanted
to bookmark a specific tab panel.
