I am using the TABs widget tool and would like to achieve the following.  

Currently, I have!

<----------           Footer area        ------------------>        This is huge in comparison to my TAB area

I would like to have the footer area be small and for the TAB area to take most of the screen.  This might

not have anything to do with the TAB widget tool at all? Not sure?  But if this can be done with CSS, please

let me know?

or even better, if I can make all my TABs to be a certain width and not adjust according to the information

inside.
