Themeroller Icons in IE8

Has only once noticed the jUI icons look thicker in IE8, making some of them unrecognizable? I suspect IE8 is rendering them twice in the same location. I also just had a weird problem where putting a span with ui icon classes inside an a tag rendered the icon 3 times. Losing the span and moving the classes to the a tag fixed it.
