Tick Marks for Slider

Hello all, javascript/jquery noob here.
Is there a simple way to put tic marks onto the jquery slider, so that
it is similar to the YUI one? (link: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/examples/slider/slider-ticks.html)
I would prefer not to use two libraries on this page, and jQuery is
perfect for everything else I am doing.
