Ticker doesn't work on first load

Ticker doesn't work on first load

Hi, I've been working on a modified version of two merged wordpress themes, and everything went off without a hitch except for the first post of the jquery ticker/scroller won't load with the page. Once it cycles through the posts it works fine, and also if you click one the first post it works fine, but it only displays a blank space on the first load. I'm not very experienced with jQuery so I understand my explanation is lacking, you can view the problem here:
