use of cycle.js in background

I'm a kind of newby using jQuery but have the following question. I'm using cycle.js to show fading background images behind a nav-bar. You can see it working at http://www.shiatsu-joyfarmer.com. This is a wordpress website and I included the cycle.js hardcoded.

Now everytime I click a menu-item the cycle starts over again. Is there a variable or technique I can use to prevent this?
