Using anchors to link to page and auto-open lightbox (using PrettyPhoto)
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site as well as to jQuery so please go easy on me. I've figured out jCarousel (somewhat) as well as how to implement the PrettyPhoto lightbox function but now have a core functionality challenge on my site.
I want to be able to click a link on my ABOUT page that will take the user to my VIDEOS page and then immediately auto-open a particular lightbox (using PrettyPhoto) that corresponds to a thumbnail on the VIDEOS page. Does that make sense? The reason for this is I want to have all my videos on the VIDEOS page--and have each thumbnail or link on that page open a video lightbox when clicked on--but also be able to have links on other pages of the site that will take the viewer to the VIDEOS page first and then open a particular lightbox. This way the user will see the video, close the lightbox, and then be in the VIDEOS section.
I think this can be done by assigning an anchor to each link on the ABOUT page (i.e. website.com/videos/video1.html#video1) and then adding a jquery function that corresponds to each anchor on the VIDEOS page.
